The Faculty of Economic, Commercial and Management Sciences hosted the closing
ceremony of the cultural heritage month activities organised by the House of Culture in
Biskra on 18 May 2025.
The month-long event, which took place from 18 April to 18 May
2025, featured a variety of scientific activities and training meetings under the theme
"Cultural heritage in the age of artificial intelligence". Biskra University Rector, Pr Mahmoud
Debabeche, with Biskra State Culture and Arts Director, the Biskra Regional Theatre
Director, the two University Vice-Rectors Pr Abdelhamid Djeffal and Pr Salim Bitam, the
Faculty Dean, Pr Ismail Hijazi, the of the Quality Assurance Cell Head, Pr Kahloul El Eid ,
and a number of teachers and students attended the ceremony. Other attendees were of the
revolutionary family and key figures in the local cultural scene representatives. The Rector
expressed his pride in this cultural university event and appreciated the efforts of the
Directorate of Culture and Arts. He emphasised using AI tools importance to protect and
document the national heritage for future generations and viewing the revolutionary
representatives’ presence as a source of pride. The Biskra Governorate Culture and Arts
Director expressed his happiness with Biskra University partnership worth noting that signing
the annexe agreement is a strategic step towards deepening institutional cooperation. The
ceremony culminated in signing a cooperation agreement annex between the two institutions,
embodying their shared commitment to developing cultural and scientific projects. The event
concluded with a high-quality scientific programme comprising a series of lectures by
CERSTRA researchers and specialists in automated media.
